The Show

We arrive ninety minutes prior to the show. A trunk with a portable screen is assembled center stage.  The screen is used for quick changes and transitions.  The trunk is filled with masks and costumes.  An easel is set up stage right which will display the title of each vignette. On stage left we set up microphones, guitars, amplifiers and a variety of sound effects including bells, whistles and  kazoos.  The music is improvised to follow the mime through a gamut of emotions and adventures.  The music, created with brilliant timing and creativity, enhances the expression and energy of the mime. 

When performing for children, our show is introduced by Carleton the Mime wearing a mask.  He explains that the spectator also has a role to play as an active audience.  They must seize the moment andbe willing to laugh, clap and watch carefully as each story unravels before them.  Then as the outer mask is removed, he exposes the white-face mask of the silent mime.

We then present a series of short mime stories with a variety of themes.  Our selections will be age and situation appropriate.  Our repertoire has a large variety of sophisticated materiel for black tie formal adult banquets as well as materiel suited for family and children'sevents.  Throughout the show, Carleton will invite children or adults up, and occasionally will leap from the stage to select them to join him on stage.  Members of the audience may find themselves dressed as a king, a milkmaid, a court jester or a wizard.  You will witness the wonder and excitement, the enthusiasm and laughter, as you have never seen before.  We also have specific material for a variety of holidays and seasons. 

Your happening is unique, and we have a variety of packages available to make this your most memorable event.  One package includes a teaser of a roving mime in a white tux and roller skates greeting your guests as they arrive at the event.

Because our show is a series of short vignettes, we have total flexibility in the length of our performance.  Most shows are approximately 50 minutes, but we are capable of 20 minute or two hour concerts to suite your needs.  We also have the ability to set up and break down within fifteen minutes to accommodate other performers sharing the stage.
